About Us

Athletic IQ Physical Therapy is a family-owned practice founded by Chris and Nina with a shared belief that people are capable of more than they’ve been led to believe—at any age or stage of life. We help individuals build strength, control, and confidence so they can continue training, staying active, and performing well through the normal aging process, rather than slowing down because of fear or limitation. As parents of two young children, we understand firsthand the importance of resilience, consistency, and long-term health—for ourselves, our family, and our community. We’re proud to serve Port Washington with a proactive, strength-forward approach to care.

Both Doctors of Physical Therapy with backgrounds in strength and conditioning, we specialize in sports, orthopedic, and post-surgical rehabilitation. Chris is a TPI-certified golf specialist (Medical Level 3), while Nina focuses on sports and orthopedic care with an integrated approach that also addresses pelvic health concerns when they influence movement, load tolerance, or performance. Rather than chasing symptoms or quick fixes, we focus on understanding readiness, restoring movement quality, and progressing intentionally—so our clients become durable, informed movers who can train, live, and perform with confidence.

Our Philosophy

At Athletic IQ Physical Therapy, we believe most people are safer to move—and stronger—than they think. Our approach prioritizes building confidence, control, and capacity through intentional strength training rather than fear-based restriction. Pain is treated as information, not a stop sign, and progress is guided by readiness, not arbitrary timelines. We focus on the smallest effective changes, restoring movement quality first and layering complexity only when the body is prepared. Rehab and performance aren’t separate—they’re part of the same continuum. Our goal is not just to reduce symptoms, but to help people become durable, informed movers who can train, live, and perform with confidence.

How We Coach

Our philosophy isn’t just words—it guides how we assess, program, and progress every client we work with.

Build Safety Through Strength

We don’t avoid loading—we use it intentionally. By starting with controlled positions and predictable movements, we help clients rebuild trust in their bodies while developing real strength. Safety isn’t created by restriction; it’s built through capacity.

Progress Without Panic

Setbacks happen, and they don’t mean you’re broken. We use readiness—not fear or timelines—to guide progress, making the smallest effective changes while keeping you moving forward. Pain and flare-ups are treated as information, not failure.

Rehab Is Training With Context

Rehab and performance live on the same continuum. Whether you’re returning to the gym, your sport, or daily life, our programs look like real training—adjusted to meet you where you are and progress you toward where you want to be.
